Academic Sabbatical
Come to Pendle Hill during your academic sabbatical! Dedicated scholarships fund work in several fields, including Quakerism, Bible, and the arts.
The Henry J. Cadbury Scholar for 2011-2012 is Stephen Potthoff, associate professor of Religion and Philosophy at Wilmington College (OH). The working title for his sabbatical research is “Healing Dreams, Dreaming Earth: Friends, Visions, and Ecospirituality.” In addition to library research, he plans to facilitate a “dream sharing group” at Pendle Hill. Cadbury Scholars and recipients of other Pendle Hill scholarships have the opportunity to experience worship, work, study, and service as members of Pendle Hill’s supportive resident community and have access to the Quaker collections at Swarthmore and Haverford Colleges.
